Statement of Faith

What I believe about Jesus Christ

Son of God
“You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” (Matthew 16:16, NLT)

Fully God
“In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1, NLT)

Fully human
“She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger.” (Luke 2:7, NLT)

Lived without sin
“Which of you can truthfully accuse me of sin? And since I am telling you the truth, why don’t you believe me?” (John 8:46, NLT)

Died for our sins
“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45, NLT)

Rose from the dead
“He isn’t here. He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen.” (Matthew 28:6, NLT)

Is alive today
“And be sure of this, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20, NLT)

Will return again
“When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.” (John 14:3, NLT)

Sends the Holy Spirit who will lead us into all truth
“But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative, that is, the Holy Spirit, he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.” (John 14:26, NLT)  “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.” (John 16:13, NLT)

Coming Judgement

“Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” (Matthew 10:28, NLT)

Everlasting Life

“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes has eternal life.” (John 6:47, NLT)
