East Coast Truss, Inc. is located in Smithfield, VA.  The majority of our jobs are in Hampton Roads and Western Tidewater areas of Virginia.

8 Hours per day Monday – Friday

7:30 – 4:00  (:30 min. lunch)

7:30 – 4:30  (:60 min. lunch)

Pay is based on experience, time with the company, reliability, skill development, and quality of work.

Assistants $10 – $20

Leads $20 – $35+

Assistants must:

  • Live in Hampton Roads or the surrounding area 
  • Legally be able to work in the United States
  • Hold a valid driver’s license 
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Own a smart cell phone
  • Be able to easily converse in English
  • Be willing to work indoors, outdoors, tight spaces, and in all types of weather
  • Have the ability to work efficiently at heights (fall protection provided)
  • Be able to lift or move objects up to 80 lbs. without assistance
  • Be drug-free and willing to submit to drug intoxication testing
  • Be able to read a measuring tape and cut materials to length
  • Able to effectively use general carpentry tools such as saws, air compressors, nail guns, hammer, table saw, multi-tool, jigsaw, etc.
  • Proficient in carpentry related math skills such as basic arithmetic, geometry, imperial measurements, and fractions.

Lead carpenters, builders, and framers must:

  • Live in Hampton Roads or the surrounding area 
  • Legally be able to work in the United States
  • Hold a valid driver’s license 
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Own a smart cell phone
  • Be able to easily converse in English
  • Be willing to work indoors, outdoors, tight spaces, and in all types of weather
  • Have the ability to work efficiently at heights (fall protection provided)
  • Be able to lift or move objects up to 80 lbs. without assistance
  • Be drug-free and willing to submit to drug intoxication testing
  • Able to pass background checks for military base access
  • Be organized, a self-starter, and observant of details.
  • Be able to perform a wide range of tasks for both residential and commercial clients.
  • Able to perform a full range of rough carpentry, finish carpentry, and general construction jobs from start to finish.
  • Be able to manage a crew while maintaining a positive work environment that motivates team members to work with efficiency and excellence.
